Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza is a wild game of quick action. It's very simple, huge amounts of fun, and anyone can play it. This is a great game for groups, families, parties, and friends looking for a fun game to liven up the night. Overview What do the words taco, cat, goat, cheese, and pizza have in common? Nothing, except that's what's chanted as players lay down their cards in this frustratingly fun frenzy of a card game. Each player lays one of their cards down face-up and recites the next word in the game's title.

A pack of cards – Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, Pizza

3 to 8 players

Instructions:

1. The dealer will evenly distribute all the cards out to each of the players

2. Keep all cards faced down (no peeking)

3. The person to the dealer’s left puts a card into the center, face-up, saying “Taco”. The player on his left then puts his/her card face-up on top of player 1’s card, while saying “Cat”. Play continues in this way (going “Taco”, “Cat”, “Goat”, “Cheese”, “Pizza”) until the following happens:

The card just laid matches the card spoken by the player (e.g., they put down ‘Pizza’ while saying, “Pizza!”).

4. At this point, all the players must SLAP their hands-on top of the pile of cards in the center, and the last player to do so takes the entire pile, and puts them on the bottom of the pile in his/her hand. He/She then starts off the next round saying, “Taco”, the next player, “Cat”, next “Goat,” etc.

5. But watch out for those special cards! There are three different “special” cards. The special cards require the player to act something out while still attempting to be the first to slap the deck.

The special cards are Gorilla, where you beat your chest three times; Groundhog, where you slap both hands on the table at the same time; and Narwhale, where you but your hands together over your head like a horn. After you have completed the special task, you must then be the first person to slap the stack of cards.

6. The last person to slap the stack will have to take the pile of cards. Then add them to the bottom of their pile. See visual instructions here.

Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza is a fast-paced hand slapping game. We enjoyed playing it and we can’t wait to play with family and friends once we are allowed to go out and gather. Playing it takes away the boredom and the sleepiness during a lazy and tiring afternoon.

The game is simple. Players lay down theirs cards in the middle (called the card pile) one at a time while saying Taco, then Cat on the next card, then Goat on the next card, then Cheese, then Pizza, then Taco again…

If the card matches the word, like if it’s your turn to say Goat and the card you put down is also a Goat, everyone else has to put their hands on the card pile. The one who puts his/her card down last, gets all the cards in the pile. The winner of the game is the first player to put down all his/her cards.

Sounds simple but it gets really confusing.

Taco Cat Goat Cheese Game

Here’s our Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza Card Game Review.

Easy to Play. The game play is pretty simple but confusing. That is what makes it fun. Yet, anyone can learn the game in less than 10 minutes. Kids and adults will surely enjoy this game. No special skills required. You just need lots of concentration and fast hands.

Wholesome Family Game. The game is recommended for ages 8+ but as long as younger kids can understand the mechanics, they can play too. Age is not a factor here. Everyone can play from bunso to lolo and lola. I even think kids would have an advantage since they will move quicker.

DADDY TIP: Adults should be extra careful in putting down your hands. You might smash on smaller hands if you get too excited.

Fast and Fun. The game is fast. It can be over in less than 15 minutes. Which means you can have several sessions in a day. It doesn’t get monotonous. After several days of playing, I still can’t master it. I still get confused. There’s always a different reason to laugh. It makes each game unique and memorable. We still laugh about our mistakes from the game a week ago.

Affordable. The game costs 600 PHP only at the Gaming Library. It’s cheaper than other popular card games and I find this one a lot more fun and more inclusive. I find the price quite a steal. Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza is sold at Amazon for 9.99 USD.

The Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza Card Game we got was the Philippine Edition. Thus, the instructions were in Filipino. Part of the fun was letting Gab read and understand the Filipino instruction. He then told us how to play the game. I did help him define some of the words but I was a good test on his Filipino. 😀
